Terms of service

The rules for using DeadCart, written to be read. Last updated 15 October 2026.

Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you, the merchant who installs DeadCart on a Shopify store, and Shahmir Alam (GDigital), House 55, Street 92, Sector G-6/1-4, Islamabad, Pakistan. By installing or using the app you accept them. If you use the app for a business, you confirm you can accept them on its behalf.

The service

DeadCart adds a popup to your store that offers shoppers a discount for their WhatsApp number, creates a discount code for each signup, tracks signed-up shoppers' carts, lists abandoned carts in your Shopify admin and prepares WhatsApp messages that you send from your own WhatsApp app. It also reports recovered orders. We may improve or change features over time.

Your account

You need a Shopify store and must keep complying with Shopify's terms. Access to the app comes through your Shopify admin; anyone you give staff access to the app acts on your behalf.

Plans, trials and billing

  • The app has a free plan and paid plans, shown in the app and on our website. Each plan includes a number of popup signups per month.
  • Paid plans start with a 14-day free trial, once per store. They are charged monthly or yearly through Shopify and appear on your Shopify bill. You approve every charge on Shopify's own page.
  • You can upgrade, downgrade or switch to the free plan at any time from the app's Plan page. Uninstalling the app cancels the paid plan. Charges and refunds follow Shopify's billing rules; switching to the free plan cancels the paid plan with a prorated credit.
  • When a plan's monthly signups are used up, the popup pauses until the next month or until you upgrade.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice in the app. Changes apply from your next billing period.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for how you contact shoppers. In particular you agree to:

  • Use clear consent wording in the popup and contact only shoppers who agreed, about what they agreed to.
  • Follow WhatsApp's terms and business messaging policies, and the marketing, anti-spam and privacy laws that apply to you and your shoppers.
  • Honour requests to stop messaging, and respond to shoppers' data requests.
  • Publish a privacy policy for your store that covers collecting WhatsApp numbers.
  • Make sure the text, images and discounts you set are accurate and that you have the right to use them.

Acceptable use

  • No spam, bulk unsolicited messaging, harassment, or messages to people who did not opt in.
  • No illegal products or content, and nothing misleading or deceptive in the popup.
  • No attempts to break, overload, reverse engineer or get around the limits or security of the app.
  • No reselling of the app or access to it.

Data and privacy

Our privacy policy explains how data is handled. For shopper data you are the controller and we process it only to provide the app to you, following your instructions as set in the app, and we delete it when you uninstall or when a deletion request arrives through Shopify.

Shopify and WhatsApp

The app depends on Shopify, and messages are sent through WhatsApp, which we do not control. DeadCart is independent and not affiliated with Shopify Inc. or WhatsApp LLC. We are not responsible for their services, outages or decisions, including any restriction WhatsApp places on your number.

Intellectual property

We own the app and its content. You keep ownership of your store data and the content you add. You give us permission to use that content only to run the app for you.

No guarantees

We work to keep the app reliable, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise any particular number of signups, recovered carts or sales, or that the app will be free of errors or interruptions.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Indemnity

You agree to cover claims brought against us that arise from how you message shoppers, your content or your breach of these terms or of the law.

Ending the agreement

You can stop at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or end access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and will tell you why unless the law or security prevents it. After uninstalling, your data is deleted as described in the privacy policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, and the courts of Islamabad have jurisdiction, unless your local law gives you other rights.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms. We will give notice in the app for significant changes, and continuing to use the app afterwards means you accept them. Questions: support@gdigital.pk.
